A participatory performance.
I ask people to smell me and then write down their observations. How they gather the data and the form of their writing is left to their discretion. Documentation exists as their texts.
Performed as part of the
Subtle Bodies series at the Hammer Museum in March 2010.
In May 2010, I performed a variation for
The Sweat Lodge at MIT, in which I was hidden by a curtain in an enclosed structure. Participants had to request the specific body part they wanted to smell. I would then proffer the part through a hole in the curtain.
